Responsibilities

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Care Professional role is responsible for delivering quality care and supports to older people so they can remain living at their home. You are a kind and caring person who is also practical and can get things done. You will be working in customers home to support them to live the way they want. You are approachable and love working with older people.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivering care and support that’s right for your experience and level of training – such as driving customers to the doctors
  • Personal care, such as supporting someone with a shower, getting dressed or incontinence care
  • Supporting the customer to meet their documented needs and goals – such as going for a walk or having a cuppa with them
  • Connecting with the customer in the way that suits their personality and interests
  • Helping the customer to live fully and independently in their own home
  • Documenting any risks to care and supports and alerting the Care Manager
  • Noting any changes in the health or wellbeing
  • Domestic cleaning, laundry and basic cooking/meal prep
