Description

The role of being a Care Quality Lead is an important role within working in health and social care. You will lead, develop and coordinate a team of care workers to provide the highest standards of respect and care. Overall ensuring the dignity of the client is maintained at all times.

Responsibilities

· Ensure all care given is based upon the individual care assessment and that the care plan is administered to the highest standard. Encourage the service user to remain as independent as possible.
· To supervise and support staff as agreed with the management of Spire Homecare.
· To support, assess and sign off new care workers shadowing rosters.
· Undertake general observation and accurate reporting, both verbally and written, of service users’ physical, emotional and social wellbeing.
· Develop and maintain good relationships with service users and their relatives, as well as outside agencies and other professionals.
· Ensure the safe storage, documentation and administration of medication is carried out in accordance with current guidelines and training.
· Inform promptly to your line manager, of any serious illness, accident, incident and defects within the premises and complete the appropriate records.
· To carry out spot checks and observations on care workers and report back to Registered Manager.
· To record accurate and timely records of service users care, medication, SKINN bundle, dietary charts and any other charts provided.
· To attend monthly team meetings, to engage in the exchange of information and communication to meet identified needs and encourage professional development.
· To support staff with out of hours service coordination and advice, and report all change, incidents, accidents to Registered Manager.
· To support and care for service users who are end of life and work closely with other professionals and their relatives and friends.
· To support service users with specialist needs, e.g. stoma, catheters and those with mental health needs.
· To make and change beds, keep working areas tidy, clean commodes and light household duties.
· To ensure all service users have a new and current MAR sheet each month.
· To manage the collection of daily records monthly and return them to the office for audit.
· To adhere to uniform policy.
· To comply with the organisations guidelines, policies and procedures at all times.
· To perform such other duties as may be reasonably be required.
