Responsibilities

The Care Services Assistant plays a pivotal frontline carer role with a particular focus on nutrition and dining, supporting residents to live a life of fulfilment through the delivery of person-centred care and support according to needs and preferences of each resident in everyday practice. Assisting in the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of resident meals. Your responsibilities will be to provide care and support aligned with residents’ preferred daily routines with a strong focus on:

  • Meal choices and individual nutrition
  • Consideration of allergies and food intolerances
  • Enhancing the overall dining experience
  • Assist residents with meal selection and meal timing preferences
  • Prepare and set up dining areas to meet individual needs and preferences
  • Actively engage with residents to provide social and emotional support during mealtimes
  • Use empathy and kindness to foster a positive dining experience
  • Promote resident choice and control to uphold dignity and respect
  • Prepare and maintain dining experience areas and provide meal service to meet individual resident choices
  • Maintain accurate nutrition and diet information as required
  • Assist with quality food preparation in accordance with the Food Safety Plan, Bolton Clarke Food Standards and Dining Framework
  • Assist with maintaining kitchen stock supplies as required
