JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and a genuine desire to assist individuals in need of support, particularly in assisted living, nursing homes, and home care settings. This role involves providing essential care to adults, seniors and may include individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s.
As a Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients through compassionate caregiving and support.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care and senior care practices is highly desirable.
  • A background in nursing or caregiving will be advantageous.
  • First aid certification is a plus.
  • Experience in childcare may also be beneficial for those working with families requiring support services. We welcome applicants who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others while providing high-quality support and care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects.
  • Support clients with mobility and engage in heavy lifting when necessary.
  • Implement behaviour management techniques to assist clients with challenging behaviours.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health status to the supervising nurse or manager.
  • Facilitate activities that promote social interaction and cognitive engagement for clients with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
  • Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.
