ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

This role is for Swansea and surrounding areas. All applicants will be expected to complete physical restraint training and manual handling training, which is covered over a 4 consecutive day period. This training is mandatory and must be completed before you can be assigned to work.
This is a role for a driver with vehicle.

Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Support Worker at Safehands Recruitment, your responsibilities will include:
Supporting Individuals: Provide one-on-one or group support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Assist them with daily activities, medication management, emotional support and personal care duties.
Creating a Safe Environment: Ensure the physical and emotional safety of the individuals you care for by maintaining a calm and supportive environment.
Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct assessments of individuals’ mental health needs and monitor their progress. Report any significant changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with individuals, their families, and the healthcare team. Keep accurate records of interactions and observations.
Promoting Independence: Encourage and empower individuals to develop and maintain their independence by teaching life skills and coping strategies.
Crisis Intervention: Be prepared to respond to crisis situations and provide immediate support to de-escalate and ensure the safety of all involved.
Advocacy: Be an advocate for the rights and needs of individuals, ensuring they receive the best possible care and support.
