Job Introduction
Autism Anglia is a well-established independent charity. We have an exciting opportunity available for Team Leader on a full-time basis. Working from our Residential Living Services.
The successful Team Leader will assist people who are within the autistic spectrum, some with additional Learning Disabilities. Enabling them to maximize their potential and develop life skills across multiple activities.
The Team Leader will work as part of a team to help those in your care to help them achieve their own life plans, through a person-centred approach.
This role is well suited to someone with previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant, or Carer. Caring for Autistic individuals, or those with Learning Disabilities in a healthcare setting.
Autism Anglia offers an extensive induction on the commencement of employment. We are also dedicated to ongoing training and professional development.
Location: Peldon Campus, Church Road, Colchester, C05 7PT
Salary: £27,858.96 to £28,360.58, for Intensive Support, per annum (£14.44 per hour to £14.70 per hour for Intensive Support)
Hours: Full-Time Hours; 39 hours per week, overtime available

Responsibilities
  • As part of the management team, take day-to-day responsibility for running and ensuring delivery of a high-quality, safe and person-centred service which supports and empowers staff and the people we support.
  • Provide daily support, personal care and the development of individual skills for the people we support.
  • Promote the development of individuals we support by using a holistic approach which demonstrates an understanding of their personal, physical, emotional, spiritual and developmental needs.
  • Act as and be responsible for key worker roles to ensure that the needs of the people we support are met and engage in regular communication with the management team to ensure individual achievements and concerns are discussed.
  • Ensure Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults procedures are an integral part of the working practices of the establishment.
  • Act as a role model and encourage staff to demonstrate a proactive enthusiastic and positive approach, ensuring they are aware of expectations regarding their performance and conduct
  • Manage the receipt, storage and administration of medication and associated record keeping. Undertaking reviews and audits to ensure safe administration
