Description

To support management by supervising an environment of forty service users, maintaining and monitoring good care standards. To practice good communication skills to improve quality of life for service users wherever possible within a multi disciplinary care structure.

· Establish good communication skills with other agencies, staff and service users to ensure accuracy in identifying problems, managing issues and monitoring evaluations made.

  • Prior to placement of new service users, participate in assessments in liaison with social workers or similar agency, either within their own home or place of residence, to identify care needs in order to determine the level of assistance required and suitability of placement.
  • Delegate care tasks and organise staff within their own work role, advise and support where necessary, sorting out problems when they arise.
  • Identify organisational weaknesses and give input to improvements where necessary, to ensure customer satisfaction and achieving maximum bed occupancy, maintaining overheads at a sensible level.
  • Assist new members of staff with practical observations and in completing induction programme.
  • To act up in a managerial capacity in absence of Manager in liaison with administration staff for support.
  • Be responsible for the environment, delegate jobs to staff members to ensure the maintenance of equipment and safety of the environment is a high priority.
  • Take part in interview sessions when required.
  • Monitor keyworking, assess, plan, maintain and liaise with keyworkers on a regular basis to evaluate service users needs and oversee careplanning.
  • Monitor all service users documents, main files and care plans and assist staff to complete necessary assessments, plans and evaluations.
  • Act as part of the care team both working alongside them and in a supervisory role.
  • Advise, be supportive and offer information to service users, relatives and visitors wherever possible.
  • Support Management on confidentiality aspects concerning service users and staff.
  • Participate in staff supervisions and document advice, training and development and forward to manager’s office.
  • Work within the Infection Prevention and Control Agenda/programme. Assist in minimising the spread of infection through safe practice, compliance with relevant Policies and Procedures and effective use of the provided equipment. Follow instructions carefully and diligently in the event of an outbreak. Speak to senior team members if you have concerned about others practice
