With kindness and understanding, you will provide and complete the following duties:

  • Being present in the village, completing regular village rounds with your co-worker, and completing general village tasks during your shift.
  • Assisting with domestic duties and household tasks including washing, ironing, vacuuming, dusting
  • Assisting with the preparation and cooking of meals with individual residents and groups
  • Assisting with social support individually and in group settings and encouraging older people to engage in social activities
  • Assisting with personal care including showering, dressing, grooming
  • Providing Transport – appointments, shopping and social outings both individual and in groups
  • Respite – supporting an older person while family carers take a break in the person’s home and/or at our overnight respite cottage

    About you:
    To be successful in this role you will understand the importance of maintaining compliance with standards, promote the core values of Anglicare Sydney and adhere to organisational policies and procedures that underpin the support offered to older people to live well at home.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Essential: Previous experience as a Support Worker in Home Care or Disability
  • Desirable: A Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home, and Community)
  • Current accredited First Aid and CPR certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Vaccinated against COVID and Flu highly recommended
  • A reliable vehicle to transport residents to appointments - NSW C Class Motor Vehicle (essential) with minimum Third Party Vehicle Insurance
  • Ability to drive a minibus (NSW Class C license only)
  • Basic computer and smartphone working knowledge
