Job Title: Care Worker
Salary: £13.00 per hour
Hours: 8 per week, between 8am – 12pm
2x 4-hour shifts (Monday & Friday)
Job Purpose: To work as a member of a small team, providing personal care to adults within their own homes, meeting their care needs in a supportive setting consistent with their identified care plan, and to adhere to Health & Safety regulations. This service is provided within the G82 & G83 area. The Ben View Community bathing service is Registered with the Care Inspectorate.
SSSC registration is required for this post, if you are not already registered then registration must take place within the first 6 months of taking up post.
All employees are subject to a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme record check for working with older adults, Ben View will cover this cost.

Responsibilities
  1. To assist users to dress/undress
  2. To prepare shower/bath area
  3. To use designated equipment as necessary
  4. To transfer users safely to and from the bath/shower
  5. To assist users while in shower/bath
  6. To assist/ encourage with mobility
  7. To record information in client files and Home Care Diary on a daily basis
  8. To update client personal care plans and provide an input into their regular reviews
  9. Ensure all work is carried out and recorded meeting the National Health & Social Care Standards and SSSC Code of Practice
  10. To communicate with external agencies, carers and families where appropriate
  11. To ensure Company Policies and Procedures are being adhered to across all aspects of practice
  12. To attend staff meetings/training as required
  13. Use computer and handheld electronic systems for input and recording of client’s information
  14. To report to the Care Co-Ordinator on a regular basis regarding any change in clients’ circumstances
  15. To support in the daily lunch club by carrying our bus escort duties, setting and clearing up of hall, serving meals and ensuring all accurate recording of lunch sessions is in place
  16. To undertake any other designated tasks as directed by the Care Co-Ordinator appropriate to the grade
