JOB OVERVIEW

EXPERIENCE

  • Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care practices is beneficial.
  • A background in nursing or caregiving is an advantage.
  • First aid certification is preferred to ensure client safety during emergencies.
  • Experience in childcare may also be considered valuable when working with families needing support. Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
  • Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
  • Support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
  • Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s or dementia.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Foster a safe and supportive environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
