Career Consultant Full-Time | Kansas City Metro | Community-Based | Non-Exempt | $21.53/hour + Full Benefits   Do you have a passion for connecting people with jobs where they can succeed? CDD's Career Consultant role is all about building relationships with clients, employers, and the community to create real employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities. You will assess, develop career plans, place clients in jobs, and support their long-term success in the workforce.   Why You'll Love Working at CDD - Place an average of 4 clients per quarter into real community jobs -- measurable, meaningful impact. - Build lasting employer partnerships across the Kansas City metro. - Competitive pay at $21.53/hour plus mileage reimbursement and full benefits. - Paid training and required employment-support certifications included. - Be part of a team that believes employment is a right for every person with a disability.   What You'll Do - Complete career discovery, job preparation, job development, and placement activities with clients. - Assist clients with mock interviews, resumes, cover letters, and career portfolios. - Find appropriate employment opportunities and make quality job matches. - Develop written career plans outlining vocational goals, strengths, and supports needed. - Coordinate supports at job sites to minimize job loss and meet minimum contact requirements. - Maintain accurate documentation in Therap within 24 hours of record completion. - Market the program to employers, funders, families, and schools to build referral networks. - Collect client and family satisfaction surveys twice per year. - Complete required certifications (14 hours year one, 4 hours annually thereafter). - Assist with Summer Work Programs and intakes as needed.   What You Bring Required - High school diploma or GED. - Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and proof of insurance. - Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass background and registry screening. - Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
