The Department of University Career Services is seeking to hire its next Career and Employer Relations Specialist, University Career Services.

MINIMUM HIRING QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED HIRING QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with college students or career seeking adults in a college or career services setting.
  • Large university setting
  • Knowledge of career management systems.
  • Dynamic presenter
  • Ability to work with diverse populations

Responsibilities
  • Provide career counseling, career exploration, and career search strategies to individual students and groups.
  • Develop and conduct career-related presentations using various delivery formats for academic classes, student organizations, and other related campus units.
  • Promote partnerships, collaborations, and positive relationships to promote the work of university career services to faculty and staff across the Georgia State University community.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers.
  • Mount career-related events such as career and job fairs, panels, and networking to connect students with employers.
  • Develop career services and career counseling approaches for underrepresented student populations, including, but not limited to, students who are nontraditional, veterans, and returning.
  • Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and college departments to identify, define, and meet student career planning and career search needs, including setting student success goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to the identification, analysis, and assessment of student success outcomes. Maintain accurate student records and collect data for reporting purposes while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Oversee special programs, retention projects, and activities as assigned.
  • Participate fully in the overall activities of university career services.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
