JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Radio Access Network engineer to join our team and play a critical role in defining the end-to-end architecture of our next generation European LEO satellite communications system (IRIS²). In this position, you’ll work closely with internal engineers, architects, product and business development managers, and external suppliers leading the development of system components. You will write technical requirements, perform system trade studies, define the concept of operations, and maintain the technical baseline, including all the interface definitions. You will work closely with the program and the Integration & Test team to ensure that the system is developed and is fit for purpose. Responsibilities
  • Define the functional composition of the whole communications system – which subsystems perform various tasks and processes.
  • Define and implement processes for making and tracking key architectural decisions and changes.
  • Own the system level requirements and work with subsystem leads to ensure their requirements reflect the system needs.
  • Maintain the technical baseline and lead the Integrated Product Team initiatives
  • Perform system trade-studies
  • Define CONOPS to ensure that the system functional flows are clearly defined
  • Maintain the key sub-system level interface documentation and associated schema
  • Work with subsystem suppliers to ensure their designs meet the system level needs.
  • Radio Access Network design/customization and implementation/deployment
  • Implementation of RAN functions on a range of hardware platforms (cloud, programmable baseband processors, FPGAs, DSPs, ARM or x86 CPUs etc.)
