SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Career Services Coordinator acts as a link between company clients in the trades industries and the graduating students seeking employment opportunities. This position provides the students with information and advice about the employment market to students who are seeking job opportunities after they graduate. The Career Services Coordinator assists the Education Department with all programs that require students to complete clinical practicum or externships and coordinates and supervises the clinical/externship program at the institution. This position also assists with interview questions and mock interviews with students taking the Professional Development courses at the school. A typical day may consist of multiple outbound calls to students and employers with consistent follow up. Site visits with employers may occur upon supervisor’s approval.
*This position is assigned to the Riverside location and may require travel to the West Covina location during onboarding and training.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of three years career services or customer service experience and/or experience in job recruitment and job development
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to inspire students to the highest level of achievement for meeting employer expectations
  • Motivation, enthusiasm, and a sensitivity to students needs and interests
  • Computer skills required and ability to navigate through online portals used by InterCoast
  • Flexible availability; weekends and evenings are required
    *Pay rate is negotiable and based off of the following criteria from submission of resume: Level of education, special training, recruiting experience, job development experience, education placement experience, job longevity, management experience and school management experience

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain rapport with every possible company that employs graduates from the School’s training programs.
  2. Secures current job openings from client companies for the referral of graduate students.
  3. Schedules and arranges interviews for graduate students with hiring company clients.
  4. Advises and assists graduate students with how to conduct job search campaigns and how to successfully interview with companies for positions in the fields which the School teaches.
  5. Provides placement services to graduates who need re-placement services.
  6. Maintains and documents all necessary student files to assure up-to-date and accurate student placement record keeping, as required by ACCET, USDOE, State, and other governmental agencies.
  7. Assists supervisor in the completion of annual statistics of placement and completion reports.
  8. Reports Daily activity to Senior Management.
  9. Maintains the Completion and Placement spreadsheet and submits weekly to Senior Management.
  10. Conducts evaluations on all graduates from related training programs.
  11. Reports to supervisor any comments made by the industry or changes recommended to the curriculum of the associated programs
  12. Leads Advisory Board meetings twice a year. Maintains listing of current advisory board members.
  13. Assists in all graduation ceremonies.
  14. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.
