A Careers Advisor helps people make realistic choices about their education, training, and work by providing the right advice, information, and guidance. The career advisor role involves assisting clients in making decisions about their future and reaching their full potential. The role is about building relationships with your clients, with the goal of empowering them to make strong choices. Working to improve self-awareness and suggesting areas for development will encourage the setting of positive and achievable objectives. A Careers Advisor should be able to demonstrate our company’s core values and always be a strong ambassador for Staff Power Training.
Job Details
· Provide effective information, advice, and guidance to potential learners to ensure they are well-informed about the range of opportunities available through our adult learning programmes.
· Engage, motivate, and provide personalised support to learners through various communication methods.
· Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
· Identify and secure recruitment opportunities aligned with course delivery locations.
· Maintain communications with out of work learners offering support and employment opportunities.
· Build a personal, supportive relationship to help the learner by signposting to the most suitable support service if their query or issue is not within your immediate area of expertise.
· Engage proactively with learners to build a personal, supportive relationship, signposting to the most suitable supportive service where applicable.
· Manage and maintain learner information for each programme, facilitating smooth communication and information sharing with relevant stakeholders.
· Meet monthly targets for programme starts, placement and progressions, aligning with recruitment profiles.
· Support and assist all divisions of Staff Power Training to achieve their primary objectives.
Role Holder Requirements
· Must have a minimum of IAG, Information, Advice and Guidance Level 3 working towards a Diploma in Advice and Guidance Level 4.
· Strong communication, observational and listening skills.
· The ability to motivate and build rapport.
· A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
· An empathetic, non-judgemental, and ethical approach with the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
· The ability to work autonomously and manage your own caseload.
· Team working skills and capability to work under pressure.

· Strong IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Office packages.
· The ability to build a productive working relationship with your client in a short space of time.

Key Responsibilities
· Be aware of and follow all Staff Power Training policies.
· Actively seek and source employment opportunities using a variety of research methods.
· Conduct weekly reviews of our work talent pool learners matching against sourced employment opportunities.
· Liaise with employers to arrange work placement/work inspiration events, guest speaker, masterclass sessions and guaranteed interviews for applicants completing funded-based training programmes.
· Conduct risk assessments prior to course start date.
· Support the tracking, recording and monitoring of learners accessing training and development opportunities ensuring you meet confidentiality, GDPR, Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies and procedures.
· Maintain a good understanding of recruitment processes and the local labour market to be able to identify learner needs.
· Deliver performance against agreed KPIs.
· Be committed to supporting people to reach their goals.
· Adhere to customer service standards to ensure all customers are receiving a consistent service.
· Engage and maintain positive working relationships with learners.
· Adhere to compliance requirements relating to the role.
· Flexible approach to change, innovation and progress in the work environment.
· Take part in any required training needed to fulfil your role.
