Oxford University Careers Service
This is a rare opportunity for two permanent, Careers Advisers to join our team. We have a total of 1.6 full-time equivalent (FTE) posts available which could consist of one full-time and one part-time role, or two part-time roles. The successful candidates will provide careers guidance to our undergraduate and graduate students and alumni through 1-1s and group work, engage closely with two or three employment sectors, liaise with departments and colleges, and contribute to our learning and development programmes. Careers Advisers are encouraged to develop new initiatives to support students, recent examples include expansion of our support for international students, refugees and asylum seekers, working on the Making a Difference volunteering programme, and sector-related programmes such as the Creative Careers Festival.
The successful candidates will hold a degree in any discipline, bring substantial employment experience in a relevant sector for our clients, and have appropriate experience in graduate recruitment, careers advice or a similar discipline (for example, training and development).
The Careers Service at Oxford University is one of the more innovative and engaged such services in the UK, tailoring our work to fit with the teaching and research focus of the university. Our mission is to provide and involve all our clients in a range of high value career-focused services, programmes, and activities to encourage and enable them to make and implement well-informed decisions about their careers. We serve current Oxford students (26,500 undergraduates and postgraduates), 4,500 research staff, an international community of 250,000 alumni, and 12,000 employers and other opportunity providers. The role is primarily office based, whether at the Careers Service or in colleges and departments.
For an informal discussion, or to arrange a visit to the Careers Service, please email hello@careers.ox.ac.uk
All applications must be submitted by 12:00 noon (BST) on Monday 9th September 2024 in order to be considered. The assessment day will be held on 26rd September 2024
