Salary: £37,938 full salary the actual salary is £28,081
Pay award pending of 3.2%
This is a permanent role starting in September 2025.
Cotham School, a successful, vibrant and diverse 11-18 comprehensive school, wishes to appoint an excellent Careers Leader who will provide information, advice and guidance to support students in making informed, ambitious career decisions, as well as developing, promoting and embedding careers and work-related learning activities in all year groups across the school from Year 7-13.
The successful candidate will be an innovative and creative thinker, able to work on their own initiative, with strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Careers Leader
MANAGED BY: The Senior Leader with responsibility for Curriculum
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The post holder will offer Impartial and Objective Careers Information, Advice and Personal Guidance to students at Cotham School and develop, promote and embed the Gatsby Benchmarks across all year groups Years 7 to 13 including responsibility for oversight of the Work Experience programmes.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Work effectively across the school with the Senior Leadership Team, Post 16 Team, Curriculum Team Leaders, Learning Coordinators, Inclusion Team, Tutor teams and other professionals.
  • Manage the agreed budget for the Careers Department.
  • Forge effective links with relevant outside agencies, including education and training providers, universities and employers.
  • Monitor and respond to national developments in CEIAG and employability and transferable skills to ensure that the school complies with Government guidelines and expectations.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Attend relevant training and CPD in order to keep up-to-date with school and professional requirements.
  • Be responsible for own safety and not endanger that of colleagues/visitors to the workplace
  • Work in compliance with the School’s Codes of Conduct, Regulations and Policies and our commitment to Equal Opportunities.
  • Ensure that output and quality of work is of a high standard and complies with current legislation / standards.
