Provides a setting that is clean, safe and comfortable. Perform daily housekeeping laundering tasks for residents. Set up for meals and clean up after. Customizing supportive services that are tailored to the specific needs and preferences of residents and their families. Delivering services and monitoring resident needs according to the resident’s service plan including; personal care, monitoring health needs and assisting residents with medications (as delegated by the LPN/LVN) per state regulations. Conducting or assisting residents in their programming activities. Ensure high quality of resident care and recommend ways to improve quality. Participate in in-service education as needed. Participate in team meetings. Maintain a positive working environment and encourage teamwork. Ensure that residents’ ancillary supplies are properly charged to the residents. Complete end of shift reports Maintains a professional appearance, manner and approach while on duty. Respond to resident needs promptly and kindly. We will train the right candidates that have the heart to serve others Assist residents in their daily living activities (bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility, etc.) Transfer and escort residents as necessary assisting them into and out of bed, wheelchairs. Qualifications Previous experience is required. Prefer a candidate who has worked with residents who have dementia. However, we are willing to train someone who is eager to serve and eager to learn. Must have a proven track record of being reliable. Must have a schedule that ensures caregiver is able to remain alert, awake and responsible during the overnight hours. Must be 18 years of age or older. First Aid Certification is required, or to be completed within first 30 days of employment. Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods. Ability to push and pull objects, lift and carry up to 20 pounds, unassisted, on a frequent basis (occasionally up to 50 pounds, unassisted). Full use of hands, arms, and legs (for washing, bathing, assisting in feeding, and dressing residents, writing notations, operating vacuum cleaners, light housekeeping in resident rooms and bathrooms, etc.) While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to body fluids, infection, odors, and behavior of residents. Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality with resident and family information. Additional Information CNA or experience as caregiver. First Aid / CPR certified Knowledge and experience in working with elderly preferred. Good physical and mental health. Basic reading and writing skills and ability to speak English.
