Description

The Caregiver/Health Care Aide is an essential role that truly makes a difference in people’s lives and in health care. This position will work within the community by supporting client’s within their home and the community. This role will work with a range of client’s from seniors to children with various medical conditions. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills to understand and interpret client’s and their families concerns, provide emotional and social support, and report to the nurse or other team members as required to maintain continuity of exceptional care. The incumbent will utilize the nursing care plan as directed, but also contribute and improve the care plan to ensure the client’s health and social needs are met. The role of the Caregiver/ Health Care Aide is to provide support to clients and assist with their activities of daily living. Some tasks and duties may include:

  • Assistance with personal hygiene
  • Light housekeeping
  • Food preparation and feeding assistance
  • Attending client appointments or community programs
  • Monitor and document client’s well-being and report to the nurse as required
  • Liaison and advocate for client’s and their family
  • Any other duties as required
  • A secondary language is considered an asset, such as Mandarin, Cantonese, or Tagalog

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual
Pay: $15.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week

Experience:

  • Personal Support Workers: 1 year (preferred)
