QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in caregiving, either paid or volunteer.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and empathy.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and execute care plans.
  • Maturity and ability to handle the demands of the job.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Provide 3 verifiable references, 1 professional & 2 personal.
  • Pass a 2-step TB test (PPD) at hire and 1-step annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

COMPANIONSHIP AND HOMEMAKER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Provide engaging companionship and conversation.
  • Offer medication reminders to ensure timely dosage.
  • Assist with personal care needs as required (e.g., dressing, grooming).
  • Light housekeeping duties, including laundry, vacuuming, and dishwashing.
  • Meal preparation tailored to dietary needs and preferences.
  • Pet care assistance, such as feeding, walking, and grooming.
  • Shopping and errands, including grocery runs and prescription pick-ups.
  • Transportation to appointments, social visits, and outings.
  • Light yard work, such as watering plants and weeding.
  • Basic handyman services for minor repairs and maintenance.

PERSONAL CARE DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Assist with Dressing
  • Assist with Feeding
  • Assist with Showering / Bathing/Grooming
  • Mobility Assistance
  • Assist with Toileting / Incontinence
  • Memory Care

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Arrive on time for all services in your reliable transportation
  • Maintain documentation of all services provided
  • Record and report changes in the client’s physical condition, behavior, or appearance to our office staff
  • Communicate regularly and proactively with our office staff
  • Participate in relevant in-service opportunities and other informational meeting when possible
  • Clock in and out using our care management system
  • Maintain the highest standards of customer service and professionalism set by SHS
  • Be proactive in finding other ways to help our seniors once all tasks have been completed
