JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or other health challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and be skilled in various caregiving tasks, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in home health care, assisted living, or long-term care settings is required.
  • Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and patient monitoring techniques is essential.
  • Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, and working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Physical capability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
  • A compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Provide patient observation and monitoring to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and assist with care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Support clients with mobility challenges using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized living space through regular cleaning and housekeeping tasks.
  • Prepare nutritious meals while considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
  • Document vital signs and any changes in the client’s condition, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care tailored to each client’s needs.
