Description

* Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nursing Staff, will deliver patient care and service which is safe and timely. * Identify opportunities for improvement and escalate accordingly reflective of the chain of command. * Perform other duties as may be assigned within his/her scope and ability. * Support the escort of patients within the clinical setting. * Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, toileting, and feeding, under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. * Perform manual handling tasks, such as patient transfers and mobility, based on competency and experience. * Provide assistive care to tracheostomized patients under the direction of a registered nurse, ensuring proper training and updated competencies. * Engage in play activities with pediatric patients under the supervision and guidance of licensed nurses and therapists, where appropriate. * Monitor and promptly report any changes or concerns in patients’ conditions to licensed nursing staff. * Support patients during physical, occupational, or speech therapy sessions as directed by healthcare professionals. * Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms and ensure a safe environment conducive to recovery. * Communicate effectively with patients and their families, provide emotional support, and relay pertinent information to nursing staff. * Stock patient rooms with appropriate supplies and ensure medical equipment is cleaned and maintained as required. * Participate in patients' social activities to enhance their quality of life. * Assist patients and their families with housekeeping, laundry services, food preparation, and errands as needed. * Respond promptly to emergency situations and initiate assistance following established policies and procedures. Contribute to performance improvement and continuous quality improvement initiatives within the healthcare setting.
