On Solid Ground Behaviour Solutions was established in 2012 to address the increasing need for professional Applied Behaviour Analytic (ABA) services in Simcoe County. We specialize in providing tailored therapy for children with autism and developmental delays, utilizing evidence-based programming to support their growth and development.

SUMMARY

We are seeking a Caregiver Support Coach - ABA Therapist to join our Caregiver Mediated Early Years and ABA team at On Solid Ground in Barrie ON.

Our Caregiver Mediated Early Years - Solid Beginnings programis a parent-coaching program for parents with young children (0-4; or up to 48 months) with ASD using the “Project Impact” training model.

  • Caregiver Support Coaches are clinicians who are trained in the Project ImPACT model of parent coaching and who work with cohorts of families in 6 to 12-week cycles.
  • Service delivery includes an Assessment Phase, an Intervention Phase, a Maintenance & Follow-up Phase, and a Transitional Phase with review and recommendations for next steps and community transition support.
  • Parent training groups and coaching sessions are supervised by a Clinical Supervisor who has also been trained in the Project ImPACT model.

As a Caregiver Support Coach - ABA Therapist, you will be an integral part of the behavioral intervention team, collaborating with clinicians to deliver ABA programming to children and youth in both clinic and home settings. In this role, you will provide therapy services that support the well-being and learning of children and families in a compassionate, engaging, and supportive environment.

Location: Barrie, Central Region
Full Time: Monday-Friday
Pay Range: $28.00 - $35.00/hour (pending experience and education) + travel and phone subsidy, opportunity to obtain supervision mentorship

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) degree in Behaviour Analysis Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Project Impact Training certificate (required); training provided as needed
  • Bilingual (Francophone) is a strong asset but not required
  • Must be willing to work evenings and provide flexibility with scheduling with teams/families
  • Must have a valid Ontario Driver’s License, a reliable vehicle and be willing to travel
  • Experience implementing ABA programs with neurodiverse populations
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children and families.
  • Strong organizational abilities and detail oriented

Responsibilities
  • Deliver Project ImPACT or alternative curriculum for families engaging in parent training services
  • Manages a caseload of parents for parent coaching group and individual sessions in tandem with current role (Lead Therapist, Assistant Senior Therapist, Senior Therapist)
  • Manages time efficiently and effectively; schedules and contacts families per required meetings and group sessions
  • Conducts individual and group in-person and digital training/coaching sessions to parents and children
  • Works collaboratively with families to identify and set both long- and short-term goals
  • Works collaboratively with parents to identify barriers and or challenges that may arise before and/or during parent coaching sessions
  • Prepares teaching and coaching environments that are has ensure appropriate materials are available, toys and goals are developmentally appropriate, and required checklists and documentation are prepared and completed.
  • Assists parents to understand their child’s current skills, using parent training/coaching checklists and documentation; and checks in for parents understanding of motivation for their child
  • Uses behaviour skills training (BST), and ABA principles to shape staff, parent and child skills
  • Encourage parents to practice technique(s) with their child; manages the physical environment as needed, provides effective positive, and corrective feedback to the parent
  • Help caregivers reflect on the in-session practice; and to problem-solve potential challenges; assigns reflection and reading for subsequent sessions
  • Assist in developing behavioral strategies and protocols, including researching interventions, developing intervention procedures, determining data collection and graphing, etc. for children who may experience greater challenges
  • Complete fidelity and procedural checklist; prepares tracking records and documentation to support caregiver learning and staff coaching accountability
  • Provide coaching (written, verbal, modeling) to other staff on the implementation of the parent training program and strategies
  • Implement individualized ABA therapy programs for children with autism and developmental delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of sessions, progress notes, and data collection.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss client progress and share insights.
  • Other tasks that may be identified or recommended as needed.
