Open Arms is a family owned vocational service that supports adults who have developmental disabilities by teaching them independent life skills through community immersion. It is the mission of Open Arms to provide the support needed and help clients become independent through vocational training, social and community interactions. We help support our clients through person centered planning and exercising community resources, encouragement to develop professional, behavioral and social skills towill help build confidence and the experience needed to pursue their goals and aspirations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

You are responsible for overseeing a group of adults who have intellectual and/or other disabilities and teach them essential and independent life skills in the local community. This position requires you to have your own reliable transportation, in order to transport your group, with current registration and insurance coverage, as well as a clean DMV record. Applicants must also be able to pass a FBI/DOJ background screening and drug test. The position is categorized as Part Time, with a daily work schedule of 8:00AM-2:00PM, for a total of 25-30 hours per week.

EXPERIENCE

Although, experience in this field is a plus, there is no previous experience required for this position; all employees will receive extensive and continuous training to provide the tools and resources one requires to be successful in this role. Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S. We are seeking candidates that want to give back to the community and make a positive impact in people’s lives.

Work Location: Multiple location

• Create/update/manage schedule for your assigned group.
• Oversee a group of 3 adults with a developmental disability.
• Pickup/Drop off groups at designated locations on time using your personal vehicle.
• Communicate with the office after each pickup/drop off.
• Make daily progress notes on individuals in your group to be recorded in a monthly log.
• Communicate any group successes or concerns promptly to the Program Director
• Teach assigned skills to group, as well as encourage their progression in a loving and caring manner.
• Attend monthly staff training’s.
