SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Ability to install and demonstrate alarm/telecare equipment and provide clear guidance to users.
  • Experience liaising effectively with customers, carers, and professional staff.
  • Ability to work independently, including lone working, as well as part of a team.
  • Experience of responding to emergencies, including manual handling and personal care.
Responsibilities

WHAT’S INVOLVED WITH THIS ROLE:

The post-holder will install, demonstrate, and maintain community alarms and telecare equipment, enabling Careline Telecare to deliver a high-quality, cost-effective alarm response service for elderly, disabled, and vulnerable customers. The role involves assessing customer needs, recommending appropriate telecare solutions, and ensuring safe installation in line with health, safety, and regulatory standards. The officer will also provide proactive reviews of customer circumstances, signposting to other services where necessary, and ensuring accurate records are maintained to support 24/7 service delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, program, and test telecare equipment, carrying out risk assessments and following health, safety, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Register new customers, retrieve and prepare unused equipment for return, and manage stock control procedures.
  • Provide demonstrations and training on telecare equipment to customers, carers, Council staff, and health and social care professionals.
  • Conduct proactive reviews of customer circumstances, ensuring records are accurate and up to date, and signpost to other agencies where appropriate.
  • Assist Careline officers in responding to calls, prioritising urgency, and liaising with emergency services, families, and other professionals.
  • Deliver emergency assistance including first aid, personal care, and safe moving/handling where required.
