About the Role
This is a full-time (35 hours week), 12-month contract opportunity where you will be based in Port Macquarie
We’re looking for someone who’s not just passionate about supporting carers—but someone who knows how to find the right people to care for children who need it most. As a Carer Engagement and Support Consultant, you’ll be right at the heart of building, supporting, and sustaining a strong network of foster carers across the Mid North Coast.
This isn’t just a desk job. You’ll be out in the community, connecting with potential carers, delivering training, helping navigate challenges, and walking alongside carers as they support some of the most vulnerable children and young people.
About you in the role
As part of Uniting’s Carer Engagement and Support team, you’ll play a vital role in carer recruitment and engagement, ensuring that children and young people are matched with capable, nurturing carers.
You’ll be part of a warm, committed team—supported with monthly supervision, statewide forums, and professional development opportunities.
About You
You’re confident, compassionate, and proactive. You understand the importance of finding and keeping the right carers, and you thrive in a role that blends autonomy with collaboration. You’re comfortable working in homes, at events, and in tough conversations—and you bring energy, humour and resilience to everything you do.
Why Join Us
At Uniting, you’ll join a purpose-led, inclusive team committed to supporting children, families and carers every step of the way. We offer:
