Carer for Mother with Dementia
We are looking for a reliable and compassionate carer to provide respite care for our mother, who is living with dementia. This is a part-time role, for two full days a week. Based in Kennington, Ashford.

Job Details

  • Days and Hours: Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Compensation: £15 ph
  • Start Date: Immediately available.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role include providing companionship and ensuring our mother’s safety and comfort. Key tasks will include:

  • Companionship: Engaging in conversation and providing a comforting presence.
  • Personal Care: Assisting with daily living activities like dressing and meal preparation.
  • Stoma and Medication Management: Handling her stoma bag and ensuring she takes her medication as prescribed.
  • Light Housekeeping: Keeping her living area tidy.

Requirements

  • DBS Check: A current and valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is essential.
  • Experience: Previous care experience is preferred, but not essential. We will provide all necessary training on stoma bag and medication management.
  • References: You must be able to provide two professional references.
  • Personal Qualities: We are looking for someone who is trustworthy, reliable, and has strong communication skills.
