JOB OVERVIEW

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with daily living activities and providing compassionate care in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and private homes. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks aimed at enhancing the quality of life for those you support, particularly individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, or other health challenges. This position requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of others.

SKILLS

  • First aid and CPR certification is preferred.
  • Experience in group home settings or assisted living facilities is highly desirable.
  • Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health status or behavior.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.
  • Experience in cooking and meal preparation tailored to dietary needs.
  • Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment.
  • Familiarity with caregiving practices for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
  • Understanding of memory care strategies for patients with cognitive impairments.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.

Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Provide personal care and support to individuals in group homes, nursing homes, or home care settings.
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall health condition while maintaining accurate records as per HIPAA regulations.
  • Implement care plans tailored to each individual’s needs and preferences.
  • Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their emotional well-being.
  • Assist with medication administration and ensure compliance with prescribed regimens.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the living environment to promote safety and comfort.
  • Provide support for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, autism, or other developmental disabilities through direct support techniques.
  • Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers when necessary.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care is provided.
