CARETAKER – St. Francis Junior High School and Catholic Central High School
This position is open to all internal and external candidates. Prior to employment, successful applicants must provide supporting documents as outlined on our page.
We are looking to hire a continuous 40.0 hour per week Caretaker with the initial assignments at St. Francis Junior High School and Catholic Central High School (East Campus) in Lethbridge. This assignment is to commence as soon as possible. The successful candidate must be able to work weekday afternoons, evenings, and days as assigned. This position is covered by the CUPE 290 collective agreement.

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma;
• ABSA Class 5 Power Engineer or above will be considered an asset;
• First Aid certificate;
• WHMIS certificate;
• Hydraulic Ladder Training (Mobile Aerial Work Platform);
• Confined Space Entry and Rescue Training;
• Fall Protection Training;
• Ladder Safety Training.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Caretaker.

TECHNICAL SKILLS (basic knowledge of):

• Effective computer skills (email, work orders);
• Commercial cleaning equipment and chemicals;
• Fire extinguisher use.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

• Effective communication skills;
• Mechanical aptitude;
• Good self-directed initiative;
• Takes charge of assigned tasks;
• Responds well to supervision.
