Description

We are currently recruiting for the role of Cargo Planning Supervisor based in Ahmedabad, India. The Cargo Planning Supervisor plays a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Cargo Flight Planning Centre team, ensuring accurate and timely flight planning execution, offload recovery and disruption management. This role acts as the critical interface between tactical planning and strategic direction – translating network strategies into tactical execution while maintaining performance standards and ensuring optimal utilization of cargo capacity across the network. Responsibilities: As part of your role, your responsibilities will be inclusive of, but not limited to the following: Supervise daily activities of Senior Cargo Planning Agents (Freight Booking List (FBL) release, capacity optimization, disruption recovery) ensuring all actions meet SLA and quality standards. Monitor cut-off time adherence in real time and intervene/ escalate when risk of breach is identified, ensuring 100%25 SLA compliance wherever possible. Validate escalation cases (e.g., high-value or AOG shipments) and provide direction on recovery decisions, ensuring minimal revenue loss and customer disruption. Plan and approve shift rosters based on workload forecasts to maintain coverage round-the-clock while optimizing overtime costs. Provide on-the-spot coaching and feedback to Senior Cargo Planning Agent during shift, ensuring consistent application of standards and improved error-free outputs. Compile, review and submit weekly/ monthly KPI reports (SLA%25, recovery %25, disruption turnaround, utilization rates) to the Strategic Planning team, ensuring visibility of network-level performance. Analyze recurring operational issues (e.g., capacity bottlenecks, documentation delays, load imbalance) and provide structured insights to Strategic team, supporting long-term process/ tool improvements. Cascade strategic updates, corrective actions and best practices from the strategic team to Cargo Panning Senior Agents, ensuring tactical actions are aligned with revenue and service priorities. Represent the tactical team in operational calls with IOC Cargo, Stations and Operations resolving escalated issues and safeguarding shipment recovery within customer and revenue expectations. Together, everything is possible Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years of job-related supervisory experience in cargo planning, inventory management or revenue management support. Experience cargo planning, cargo capacity management, air cargo operations, inventory management or revenue management support functions Experience in disruption management, high-value cargo planning and optimization tools. Solid understanding of cargo operational and commercial processes Analytical thinking, problem solving skills and ability to analyze situations and take quick decisions Experience in leading a team Proficiency in any air cargo systems, MS Office and Excel/ BI reporting Strong command over English language, communication skills, presentation skills and ability to interact with multiple stakeholder across regions Comfortable to work in shifts including night shift, to manage a round-the-clock work stream Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow.
