Trade Recruit is working on behalf of our respected client – a well-established building and heritage joinery company based in Knutsford. We are currently seeking a skilled Carpenter / Joiner on a subcontract basis to support a variety of bespoke and heritage projects across Cheshire and surrounding areas.
This role involves both workshop and on-site work. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in oak framing and be fully confident in cutting and constructing hipped and pitched roofs. Projects include timber framing, roofing, extensions, and traditional property restoration.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum 3 years’ proven experience as a Carpenter / Joiner
· NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry & Joinery (Level 3 desirable)
· Demonstrable experience working with oak frames and structural timber
· Skilled in roof construction, particularly hipped and pitched roofs
· Own tools and full UK driving licence essential
· Able to work independently and take initiative
· Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship
· Punctual, professional, and reliable

· Carry out high-quality joinery work in both workshop and site settings
· Accurately cut and assemble hipped and pitched roofs to exact specifications
· Construct oak frames using traditional and modern joinery methods
· Read and work from architectural and technical drawings
· Travel to sites within a 40-mile radius as required
· Always adhere to health and safety protocols
· Communicate effectively with site teams, clients, and project managers
· Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised work environment
