Position Summary Argus Properties is hiring Journeyman and Apprentice Carpenters to support our growing team in Kelowna, BC. Working under the direction of the Site Superintendent, you will be responsible for the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of structures and components made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. You will have rough framing experience, finishing, concrete, and exterior installations experience. The role requires drive and a sense of accountability. Job Duties & Responsibilities Operate and maintain company assets and equipment without supervision. Complete all required health and safety documents. Read and interpret blueprints and building plans to determine specifications and requirements. Prepare layouts in accordance to building codes. Measure, cut, or shape materials made of wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof. Fit and install structures such as doors, stairs, windows, and molding. Maintain, repair, and renovate existing structures such as site trailers, offices, and residential buildings. Supervise and instruct apprentices and other construction trade helpers. Prepare costs estimates. Additional duties as required. Qualifications Journeyman Carpenter / Apprentice Carpenter. First Aid certification is required. Must possess valid trade license. Ability to travel frequently with projects. Red Seal Endorsement is an asset. Ability to work effectively with team members. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated and self-directed with a demonstrated ability to work with a team and independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Act professionally and in a trustworthy and respectful manner. High Standard of ethical conduct. Excellent written and verbal English skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one small group situations to other employees. Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines. Working Conditions Workload is moderate to high. Frequently exposed to noise. Work Schedule is typically Monday to Friday 7:30AM to 4:30PM, with ability to work the project schedule which may include evening shifts and weekends. Physical Requirements Must be able to work in a field environment. Moderate to high level of physicality. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. frequently.
