Job Overview Bigge Crane and Rigging is seeking a Carpenter to take ownership of the physical condition, functionality, and continuous improvement of our facilities and real estate assets. This role is not maintenance. It is a build, upgrade, and execute position. The ideal candidate is a true master of the trade, capable of leading complex facility improvement projects across offices, yards, shops, and residential style spaces. This individual understands carpentry at an expert level and has working mastery of plumbing, electrical, HVAC coordination, and building systems typically found in commercial offices, industrial facilities, and residential structures. This is an opportunity for a self starter with their own small crew to directly influence the strategic direction of facilities for one of the fastest growing crane and heavy equipment companies in the Gulf of America. The role also supports Bigge’s real estate division and long term property development initiatives. Responsibilities Facility Improvements and Construction -Lead and execute build outs, remodels, upgrades, and renovations across all Bigge facilities -Perform high end carpentry work including framing, finish carpentry, millwork, cabinetry, doors, windows, and custom builds framing Systems Knowledge and Integration -Perform and oversee light to moderate plumbing and electrical work where appropriate -Coordinate and integrate building systems including electrical, plumbing, lighting, HVAC interfaces, and low voltage -Identify issues before they become failures and proactively correct them Project Leadership -Plan work scopes, material needs, timelines, and sequencing -Execute special projects independently with minimal supervision Real Estate Division Support -Support Bigge’s real estate assets including offices, residential properties, and development projects -Assist in property repositioning, value add improvements, and long term capital upgrades -Provide practical construction input into property acquisition and development decisions Strategic Facilities Input -Serve as a trusted internal resource on what to build, improve, replace, or redesign -Recommend cost effective, durable, and scalable facility solutions -Think long term, not patchwork Requirements Technical Experience -Minimum 10 to 15 years of hands on carpentry experience -Master level proficiency in rough and finish carpentry -Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and building systems -Experience working in commercial, industrial, and residential environments Leadership and Execution -Proven ability to lead a small crew or independent team -Highly self directed with strong judgment and work ethic -Able to manage multiple projects without constant oversight Practical Intelligence -Understands how buildings actually function, not just how they look -Thinks in terms of longevity, maintainability, and total cost of ownership -Comfortable making decisions in the field Ideal Candidate Profile -A builder, not a handyman -Takes pride in craftsmanship and execution -Comfortable working directly with senior leadership -Sees facilities as a strategic asset, not an afterthought -Wants to be part of a growing enterprise, not a static job Benefits -Competitive pay and a matching 401(k) plan -Vacation, Company Holidays, and Sick Days -Flexible spending accounts/Health Savings Account -Reimbursement plan for the company Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Policy Bigge Crane and Rigging is a 100 plus year old company that is scaling rapidly.
