Description Title: Carpenter, C3 Department: Admin Travel Required %: None required FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Director of Production Job Type: Hourly Positions Supervised: 0 Work Schedule: Monday – Friday Position Summary: The Carpenter will use woodworking skills to build and repair various furniture pieces. Essential Functions Statement(s): Collaborates with employees concerning job orders, prints, and sketches to understand the furniture piece that needs to be built or repaired. Estimates equipment, tool, and material requirements for each job. Operates all necessary tools to complete a job including table saw, planer, joiner, drill and nail gun. Ensures tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety. Removes debris and possible hazards to keep construction site clean and safe. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Education, Experience, & Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. 5+ years of furniture building experience Completion of formal apprenticeship program or equivalent training and experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Thorough understanding of the correct and safe operation of all related tools and equipment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to draw accurate sketches to communicate the specifications for projects. Ability to take accurate measurements and calculations. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time. Must be able to squat, lift, stretch, and bend in order to reach all areas of the facility. Must be able to work in and on overhead structures, as well as below machinery.
