CARPENTER JOB DESCRIPTION

As a carpenter at Cranes Restoration & Cleaning Services you offer hope to victims of catastrophes such as fires or floods. Utilizing your skills of finishing, trim, cabinetry and drywall experience who loves thinking outside the box and can work with tight time frames.
Who also has a full range of carpentry techniques in repairing, constructing, altering as well as maintaining components of buildings structures. Works with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential. When the job is done, you take satisfaction knowing you helped someone put the broken pieces of their life back together.

Experience:

  • Full Time Carpentry: 2 years (required
Responsibilities
  • Cut, shape, and assemble wood, composition, and/or plastic sections with shop tools and equipment such as planers, jointers, shaper, routers, sanders, and various power saws.
  • Assemble prepared components for various structures, including baseboards, doors, casing, trim, tiling and flooring.
  • Uses power tools and other tools to cut and shape wood, metal, and other materials
  • Read and interpret plans, sketches, and shop drawings for milling and fabrication.
  • Prepare materials estimates as directed by supervisor.
  • Determine type and dimensions of wood stock to be used.
  • Maintain and clean equipment and work area.
  • Repairs and refurbishes existing building work
  • Utilizes skills in other related trades such as plumbing, roofing, bricklaying, painting, tiling, plastering, etc.
  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
  • Complete on-site safety inspections as needed
  • Haul debris from job site to truck as well as moving customer’s personal items to and away from work area
  • Perform various re-build and re-construction tasks as assigned
  • Utilize Restoration Software that is in place - Key enter progress notes into database on each customer daily
  • Complete all paperwork daily such as time and material sheets
  • Instruct and direct labourers and other construction helpers
  • Communicates and works well with the rest of the construction team
