Description Job Summary: The Carpenter supports the Academy by providing excellent service and dedication in carrying out tasks assigned by the Facilities Director. This position is responsible for ensuring a safe, reliable, and functional physical plant that upholds the Academy's mission. Key Responsibilities: Assist with construction, maintenance, and repair projects, including working with outside contractors as needed. Perform event setups, snow removal, and other duties as assigned by the Facilities Director. Provide and utilize basic hand tools for trade work, collaborating with other maintenance staff on various trade projects. Operate all woodworking equipment safely and efficiently. Apply knowledge of residential construction, remodeling, and trade practices to complete projects. Ensure quality control, cost control, and safety on all assigned projects. Prepare material lists, estimate project costs, and track/report project costs and time accurately. Execute carpentry tasks, including framing, finish carpentry, and installing windows, doors, and case goods. Perform layout work for framing and stairs. Use appropriate math skills for carpentry-related calculations. Requirements Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, squat, twist, and perform repetitive physical tasks. Ability to climb and work safely from ladders. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Construction Supervisor's License (preferred, as required by state regulations). Proficiency in carpentry skills, woodworking equipment operation, and trade practices. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Commitment to following all Academy policies.
