Skills and Experience Essential

  • Time served carpenter
  • Experience in a heritage environment
  • City and Guilds or NVQ level 3 in carpentry
  • General building experience
  • Prepared to work out side of normal business hours
  • Client facing - able to communicate at all level
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (on site weekend working & call out rota, plus out of hours work as and when required to suit need of the business)
The Carpenter / Fabric Technician plays a key role in the planned and reactive maintenance of a grade one listed, historic building in central London and is responsible for the delivery of maintenance services to include but not limited to carpentry, decorative and general building fabric repairs and maintenance. They will also play a key role in the provision services to a number of stakeholders including resident offices, exhibitions and events.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completion of PPM to all fabric elements of the building
  • Completion of reactive tasks as required / directed
  • Completion of ad-hoc fabric works including preparation of quotes for such work
  • Completion of quoted works both inside and outside of normal working hours
  • Occasional report writing
  • Observe and comply with company Health Safety & Environmental procedures.
  • Be an ambassador for Somerset House & OCS, maintaining their core values

Skills and Experience Essential
