HLD Muskoka is active in all areas of construction from design, excavation, high-end residential building to property maintenance and landscaping.
As a Carpenter Foreman you’ll be responsible for leading and coordinating carpentry teams in various construction projects. This role involves overseeing the execution of carpentry tasks, ensuring quality workmanship, and managing the day-to-day activities of the carpentry crew. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about construction and has strong leadership skills.

SKILLSET NEEDED:

  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and OHSA
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Time management and organizational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Additional certification such as red seal or diploma is an asset.
  • Valid G level licence with clean abstract
  • Proven experience as a Carpenter Foreman or similar role in construction
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of carpenters, ensuring they adhere to safety standards and project timelines while fostering a positive and production work environment.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to carpentry staff.
  • Collaborate with project managers to understand project requirements and timelines with an on-time/on-budget mentality.
  • Plan and organize carpentry tasks to meet project goals efficiently.
  • Coordinate with other construction trades to ensure seamless project progression.
  • Perform carpentry tasks alongside team, especially in complex or critical project phases.
  • Ensure all carpentry work meets quality and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during construction.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Monitor and control material usage to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure workmanship meets project specifications.
  • Address and rectify any deviations from quality requirements.
  • Enforce and promote a culture of safety on site ensuring to follow and promote all health and safety policies and procedures
  • Investigate and report any safety incidents promptly.
  • Maintain effective communication with project managers, subcontractors, and other team members.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress and any issues that may affect the schedule.
  • Identify cost saving opportunities without compromising quality.
