RESPONSIBILITIES As a Highstreet Carpenter, you will see yourself accomplishing a variety of carpentry tasks throughout the day while working closely with all project stakeholders. This includes our trade partners, consultants, and Highstreet employees. The primary responsibilities in this role will include: Site carpentry as required including rough wood framing Build hoardings and temporary shelters Boom lift and skid steer operation Maintaining site cleanliness Champion work site safety Perform all duties assigned by the Working Foreman IDEAL CANDIDATE A highly motivated and self-aware individual who enjoys learning new skills and growing upon current strengths. Top candidates will be team players who are organized, resilient, adaptable, and approachable. Qualifications / Requirements: 4+ years of carpentry experience or similar role Solid understanding of construction practices, equipment and WorkSafe requirements Working knowledge of concrete forming, finishing and cutting General knowledge of window and door installation Basic understanding of building envelope systems and installation Strong attention to detail with hands-on experience in finish carpentry Mechanical aptitude Good physical conditioning and stamina Ticketed on skid steer, zoom boom, and/or excavator would be an asset Comfortable working outside in varying weather conditions Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation Compensation Package: Hourly Salary: $33.65-$43.27 per hour, dependent on experience The posted salary range reflects our target hourly wage for this role. Most successful candidates are offered salaries near the midpoint of the range, based on their experience and qualifications. Annual Bonus: Highstreet pays an annual bonus based on company performance. A typical bonus for a Carpenter is approximately 14% of annual salary. Determined annually, the bonus could be more or less depending on performance results. Investment Opportunity: Highstreet encourages all employees to share in our success by offering the opportunity to invest in the projects we build and operate. To encourage employee investment, Highstreet matches employee investment at 50%, up to 20% of annual salary (i.e. for every $1 invested by the employee, Highstreet invests $0.50 on the employee's behalf). The investments are TFSA and RRSP eligible. Additional requirements: Satisfactory criminal and credit check. Employees are required to have a smartphone and be willing to download certain apps for timekeeping etc.
