As a carpenter-joiner in Pomerleau’s Civil Engineering & Infrastructure team, you will work closely with all workers to ensure the coordination and execution of work. Working on large-scale construction projects—ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion—you will have the opportunity to contribute to the productivity and efficiency of work on our construction sites.

What you will do

  • Assist specialized teams and assist with site work;
  • Perform alignment and leveling operations, fabricate and install walkways, install anchors, slab stops, and install pour joints;
  • Construct footing, foundation wall, and concrete formwork, perform work related to the installation of deep foundations, and construct formwork for columns, beams, slabs, and concrete stairs;
  • Ensure site safety at all times, depending on weather conditions and the foreman’s requests.
  • Construct shelters with insulating fabrics and fabricate temporary installations;
  • Master the use of available tools safely and in accordance with the manufacturer’s methods;
  • Adhere to safety procedures to ensure compliance with company and construction industry standards;
  • Work as a team, maintain a pleasant and trusting work environment, communicate effectively with colleagues and other tradespeople on the construction site;
  • Perform all other related tasks related to operations.

This role could be for you if you have

  • A valid CCQ carpenter-joiner card
  • An ASP Construction & WHMIS 2015 card
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in formwork
