Overview Carpenter – Journeyman Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, with over 50 years’ experience, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction. Job Type: Full Time, Seasonal Schedule: 10+ hours per day, 10 & 4 Monday to Thursday, OT after 10hr/day or 40hr/week Perks: Benefits, RRSP/TFSA Matching Location: Esso Refinery 3400 101 Ave Edmonton, AB - no direct access to public transportation Essential: Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions Requirements: Personal Reliable Vehicle CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support Valid Driver’s License (non GDL) Flat work experience Pre-employment: Drug and alcohol testing (urine-based test) Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation Carpenter Responsibilities: Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture. Carpenter Qualifications: Must hold a valid Journeyman Ticket for Carpentry for Journeyman Must have 3 years experience as a carpenter on a commercial or industrial site. Flatwork experience required. Experience with concrete formwork. Mix, pour, and spread construction materials. Perform construction activities. Responsibilities

The Carpenter will be responsible for promoting, executing, and adhering to the company's safety program, encouraging a safety culture among all personnel. Key duties include erecting and dismantling concrete forms, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades, as well as mixing, pouring, and spreading construction materials.
