ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery (or equivalent experience/time served)
  • Proven experience in domestic repair and refurbishment works
  • Good knowledge of general building techniques
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter/Kitchen Fitter to join our Fire & Flood restoration team in Epping. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality joinery and carpentry work in domestic properties that have been affected by fire, flood, or other insured damage. You’ll play a crucial role in restoring homes to their pre-loss condition, working in both occupied and unoccupied properties while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all aspects of first and second fix carpentry, including replacing damaged floors, joists, doors, skirting boards, staircases, and cabinetry
  • Install kitchens, door frames, and stud partitions to insurance specifications
  • Conduct general building tasks including stripping out fire/flood damaged areas
  • Remove damaged materials and prepare areas for reinstatement
  • Collaborate closely with other trades including plasterers, electricians, decorators, and plumbers
  • Ensure all work meets high quality, safety, and industry standards
  • Follow health and safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and COSHH requirements
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and respectful working environment within clients’ homes
  • Communicate empathetically and professionally with homeowners during what can be a stressful time
  • Keep accurate records including timesheets, job records reports, and before/after photos
  • Occasionally attend emergency call-outs or strip-out works
  • Attend training sessions, toolbox talks, and team meetings as required
