JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a dependable and skilled individual to join our team as a Carpenter/Labourer. This is a hands-on role involving both rough and finish carpentry, general labour, site maintenance, and assisting tradespeople. The ideal candidate is physically fit, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous carpentry or general construction experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Ontario Building Code is an asset
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions
  • Valid G-class driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must have CSA-approved safety boots and basic PPE
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety

OB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter/Laborer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various construction tasks and be adept at using both hand and power tools. This role involves working on a variety of projects, including restoration, installation, and maintenance tasks, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

EXPERIENCE

Candidates should possess experience in the following areas:

  • Blueprint reading and understanding of construction schematics.
  • Proficiency in carpentry, woodworking, concrete forming, masonry, and flooring installation.
  • Familiarity with CNC machinery is a plus.
  • Experience with construction painting, caulking, and general maintenance person work is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating strong problem-solving skills. Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist subcontractors with framing, decking, and finish work
  • Load, unload, and organize construction materials
  • Operate power tools and basic hand tools safely
  • Follow direction from site supervisor
  • Comply with all Ontario health and safety regulations, including proper PPE usage
  • Perform demolition and cleanup tasks as required
  • Maintain a clean and organized worksite
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
  • Perform general labour as needed

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to execute construction plans accurately.
  • Perform concrete forming and rebar installation for various projects.
  • Engage in restoration work, including cabinet installation, flooring installation, and tile laying.
  • Carry out construction painting and siding installation as required.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for carpentry, woodworking, and assembly tasks.
  • Assist with masonry work and roofing projects as needed.
  • Conduct construction estimating to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
  • Perform heavy lifting and physical labor while maintaining safety protocols on-site.
  • Provide maintenance person services, including plumbing and electrical tasks when necessary.
