DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction and leadership of the Supervisor/Lead hand, the Carpenter assumes responsibility for all general carpentry duties required on commercial scope construction projects. They will ensure work tasks are performed safely in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and company policies and that work is performed with a high level of quality and timeliness.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous Carpenter experience is a must.
  • Ability to successfully pass a Drug & Alcohol screening for site work
  • A minimum of 2+ years construction & renovation experience
  • Valid Fall protection, CSTS-0.9/20, WHMIS 2015, and Standard First Aid an asset
  • Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions
  • General construction safety knowledge
  • Committed dedication to safety; reflected in practice and experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, walk, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 25kg
  • Climbing stairs/ladders regularly
  • Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools

  • Installation of baseboards, casings, and trim

  • Shelving
  • Drywall
  • Tape, mud, prime & paint (if qualified)
  • Ensure all safety codes are followed and proper safety attire is always worn
  • Other duties as assigned
