OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and construction, with the ability to work on various projects, including residential and commercial buildings. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role is essential.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 40 kg) as needed on job sites.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A valid driver’s licence may be required for travel between job sites.

Responsibilities
  • Construct, assemble, and install structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and wallboard.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project specifications.
  • Perform heavy lifting as required for transporting materials and tools.
  • Use hand tools and power tools effectively to complete tasks.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Fabricate wooden structures such as frames, doors, windows, and furniture.
  • Install roofing systems and ensure proper plumb alignment of structures.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople including electricians and masons to complete projects efficiently.
