SUMMARY

We are currently hiring for a Certified or Non-certified Carpenter to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Senior Superintendent, the Certified or Uncertified Carpenter will be responsible for performing high-quality carpentry work, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the required specifications. While many specialized tasks are handled by our trusted subtrades, this role requires a strong understanding of general carpentry principles and the ability to execute various tasks efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to teamwork.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum five years of previous construction carpentry experience working on commercial, residential, or institutional projects.
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid BC SiteReady, and Fall Protection ticket
  • Proven carpentry skills – red seal certification not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safety and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform a variety of carpentry tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Framing (wood and metal) and sheathing
  • Installation of doors, windows, and hardware
  • Construction and installation of stairs, railings, and other architectural elements
  • Drywall installation and finishing (patching, small repairs)
  • Installation of various types of siding and exterior finishes
  • Basic formwork for concrete
  • Finishing carpentry, including trim work, baseboards, and crown molding
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to accurately plan and execute work.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with foremen, site superintendents, and other tradespeople, including subcontractors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Operate and maintain hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Identify and report any issues or discrepancies on site to the site superintendent.
  • Assist with site setup and demobilization as required.
