Position: Multi-Skilled Operative (Carpentry, Labouring & General Building)
Hours: Full-time (typical 47.5 hours per week, with overtime as required)
Reports to: Site Foreman / Site Manager
Location: Various construction sites

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Background in carpentry with proven site experience.
  • Ability to turn hand to general labouring and basic building tasks.
  • CSCS card (essential).
  • Own tools and transport (desirable).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn new skills.
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a reliable and adaptable individual with a strong carpentry background who is also confident in undertaking site labouring and general building duties. The role involves working flexibly across different trades, supporting site operations, and contributing to the smooth running of projects.

CARPENTRY DUTIES

  • Carry out first and second fix carpentry, including doors, skirting, architraves, flooring, and framework.
  • Assist with bespoke joinery or temporary works as required.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

LABOURING DUTIES

  • General site labouring, including assisting trades, moving materials, and keeping the site tidy.
  • Loading and unloading deliveries.
  • Setting up work areas, scaffolding support, and protection measures.

GENERAL ALL-ROUNDER TASKS

  • Support with basic building tasks such as plaster boarding, patch repairs, and minor decorating.
  • Assist in groundwork, concreting, or small brick/block work if required.
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out to a high standard of quality and safety.
  • Follow instructions from the Site Manager and work effectively as part of a team.
