As we continue to grow rapidly, we are looking for a Carpenter Team Lead to help drive operational excellence, crew efficiency, and client satisfaction across our projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required- 5+ years of carpentry experience with strong knowledge of renovations and new builds.
- Previous leadership experience managing crews on construction sites.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
Assets
- Experience leading multiple crews across several projects.
- Familiarity with Ontario Building Code and safety practices.
- Comfort with technology (CoConstruct, Workforce, ChatGPT, and other AI tools).
- Ability to coach and mentor less experienced carpenters.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership & Crew Management
- Oversee 3–4 active job sites simultaneously, ensuring quality, safety, and timelines are met.
- Allocate crew members, manage daily schedules, and balance workload across sites.
- Assign equipment and tools efficiently, ensuring carpenters and labourers have what they need.
- Mentor and train carpenters and apprentices, promoting skill growth and accountability.
- Maintain strong communication with Project Managers and support seamless handoffs.
Site Operations
- Coordinate materials and supplies to minimize bottlenecks and downtime.
- Lead execution of full-scale renovations and new builds, ensuring projects are completed to scope,
schedule, and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and workplace regulations.
- Conduct daily site check-ins and log updates through VPG systems (CoConstruct, ChatGPT, and other AI-powered tools).
Carpentry & Construction Expertise
- Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end renovations and new build projects.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
- Troubleshoot site issues and provide practical solutions to keep projects on track.
- Ensure workmanship meets VPG’s high standards of quality.
