POSITION SUMMARY

As a Carpenter Instructor, you’ll bring the trade to life in the classroom and shop! You’ll deliver engaging, hands-on instruction using a variety of teaching methods that support different learning styles—all in a practical and encouraging environment. Whether you’re guiding students through blueprint reading, framing techniques, tool safety, or on-the-job best practices, you’ll play a key role in shaping their path to becoming skilled, job-ready carpenters. You’ll also be responsible for daily attendance, assessing projects and practical work, and most importantly, inspiring the next generation of trades professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Carpenter Red Seal Certification
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Passion for adult education, student mentorship, and supporting the whole learner
Ability to maintain flexibility in teaching approaches to meet diverse student needs
Professional demeanor with a commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive learning environment
Previous teaching experience considered an asset

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and comprehensive instruction in accordance with the Carpenter Provincial Plan of Training
Prepare and deliver lesson plans, learning materials and assessments
Support and guide students in both theoretical and practical learning
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and evaluations
Promote a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment
