The Carrier Licensing Specialist plays a pivotal role in managing the seamless transfer of books of business between entities, reviewing and processing carrier contracts, and facilitating the onboarding and appointment of individuals and agencies with carriers. This position works closely with both internal teams and external carrier partners to ensure smooth transitions, regulatory compliance, and effective communication during contract and appointment processes. Requirements Carrier Contract Management: Review, process, and facilitate the transfer of carrier contracts between entities or agencies. Ensure all contracts are updated, compliant, and accurately executed as part of the transfer process. Coordinate with legal, compliance, and operations teams to verify all aspects of contracts meet business needs and regulatory standards. Book of Business Transfers: Oversee the transition of books of business from one entity or carrier to another, ensuring all policies and client records are accurately transferred. Manage documentation and data integrity throughout the transfer process, including policyholder details, commissions, and coverage terms. Communicate regularly with carriers to ensure accurate and timely completion of transfers. Carrier Appointments & Licensing: Process new carrier appointments for agencies, producers, and individuals. Ensure all required licensing documentation is up to date and in compliance with state and federal regulations. Communicate with carriers to finalize appointment processes and resolve any discrepancies. Carrier Relations & Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and carriers for contract negotiations, book transfers, and appointment-related matters. Maintain strong relationships with carrier representatives to resolve issues, clarify requirements, and ensure smooth operational processes. Act as a liaison for all carrier-related inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses. Process Improvement & Reporting: Continuously monitor and improve workflows related to contract transfers, appointments, and business transitions. Maintain detailed records of all transactions, including contracts, transfers, and appointments, ensuring transparency and compliance. Report progress and any issues to management, recommending process enhancements where necessary. Required 2–4 years of experience in insurance operations, carrier relations, or a similar role. Strong knowledge of insurance contracts, carrier appointments, and books of business. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Preferred Skills Previous experience with contract negotiation or administration in the insurance industry. Familiarity with licensing requirements for agents and agencies in multiple states.
